Whenever people get hurt at a bull run in Spain, I almost feel guilty for feeling amused. Then I remember they’re idiots who like playing “let’s let big angry beasts rampage through the streets while we run from them like headless chickens like we do every freaking year” and I feel that schadenfreude is almost necessary.

  • Sherrod/Racism: Shirley Sherrod [pictured] writes in the Huffington Post about her experience with racism, past and recent.

  • Rightist Media: Washington Times smears Park 51 (“Ground Zero Mosque”) imam Feisal Abdul Rauf as a “mastermind”. Nope, no mindless smears there.

  • Stupid: News: Georgian Pastor Donald Crosby arrested for “protesting without a permit” (since when does one need a permit to protest something?). D’oh!: He was protesting Warner Robins High School and it’s mascot’s nickname of “Demon”. Telltale quote: I don't scare easily. Lock me up as many times as you have to lock me up. Even kill me if you have to. I'm standing up for Jesus.

  • Cartoon: What your opposition to same-sex marriage really means.

  • Prop 8: Is it possible the Judge Walker ruling on Prop 8 won’t even be appealed due to lack of standing?

  • Godlessness: Because Hemant Mehta at Friendly Atheist asked to link to his post in support of the Secular Student Alliance. Go there. Donate. Help out the Global Godless Covenant.

  • Doggycide Justice: Cop who shot and killed an innocent Siberian husky at a fenced-in, unleashed dog park charged with animal cruelty.

  • Cool: What we own. They should’ve used someone living in a mansion, for effect.

  • Music: Another weird musical mash-up: “Rockin' Robin + Smells Like Teen Spirit

  • “Ground Zero Mosque”: I call inaccurate! The Park 51 is actually further away (by one block)!

  • Follow-Up: Gainesville, Florida fire department refuses to allow Dove World Outreach Center to proceed with Burn a Koran Day on 9/11/10. Naturally, church declares they’ll do it anyway.
