Palin Bachmann whining about fictitious attacks on her family

| »

Just two days ago, I commented on the delectable irony of Michele Bachmann's son Harrison joining AmeriCorps to become a teacher, the very organization that Bachmann had accused of being a "re-education camp" for kids. The Minnesota-based Star Tribune (from which the relevant article is linked above) gave a very approving article about Harrison's decision to go against his wingnut mother's wishes and to join AmeriCorps. Here's just a little excerpt:

Harrison must be a smart kid, a caring kid. Must have been raised well.

[...]

Thank you, Harrison, for your service. Here's hoping you inspire kids to dream, and get inspired in the process.

Yet, somehow, writing about how Harrison did the right thing and Michele Bachmann is nuts didn't sit well with Michele Bachmann. Taking a page straight out of Sarah Palin's book, she's now accusing the "Minnesota paper" of – you guessed it – attacking her kids! Wouldn't you like to know just how she came up with that angle?

Here's an excerpt from an eMail she sent to her supporters:

But just as they did with Sarah Palin, the more I talk about the issues, the more they attack with below-the-belt personal hits. In fact, yesterday, a Minnesota paper gave a full column to a hit piece on one of my kids!

Please, dear reader, take the time to scroll up a few paragraphs and read what the "Minnesota paper" actually did write about Harrison and his decision to join Teachers for America (TfA). For Christ's sake, any more praise than that and you'd expect the guy to give Harrison a hug. But no – obviously, calling Harrison "smart", "caring", "well-raised" and thanking him for his services, is really just code-speak for a "below-the-belt personal hit".

The mind won't stop boggling, will it.
