Wee, it r Doomsday! Just over an hour until the Earth starts opening up in my time zone. (Where are all the news reports of the same happening elsewhere across the globe …?)

• Democratic and Republican leaders agree to extend PATRIOT Act [pictured] for four more years with “as little debate as possible”. Cuz fuck the Bill of Rights, that’s why.

• Turns out the recently passed Rhode Island civil unions bill contains some rather self-defeating religious exemptions that allow virtually anyone to ignore said unions.

• Oh, joy: WND’s Joseph Farah plans to sue Esquire over obvious satire piece depicting Farah as giving up on his Birther lunacy. This’ll be fun to watch.
