“Hir”

| | »

Here’s one of the most eloquent and passionate poem recitals I’ve ever seen, and it’s about a boy who so desperately wants everyone to stop thinking of him as a girl. Beautiful, touching, and so true.

You can read the lines on the vid’s YouTube page.

I’m not big on poetry, but this one always leaves me thinking:

Nature’s first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold
Her early leaf’s a flower,
But only so an hour
Then leaf subsides to leaf
So Eden sank to grief
So dawn goes down to day
Nothing gold can stay
“Nothing Gold Can Stay”, Robert Frost, Yale Review, October 1923
