Amanda Marcotte: When Hemant Mehta scolds Rebecca Watson for airing petty laundry in public and thus discouraging dissenting opinions, he’s mansplaining. Or something.*
Subsequently, Hemant responds, rightfully calling bullshit on Marcotte’s accusation of him engaging in “sexist paternalism” and explaining how to actually educate someone, as opposed to humiliate them. (One would think him being a certified educator would give him a leg to stand on with regards to such things, no?)
