As the process to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” drags on, a federal appeals court has ruled that the US Military shall no longer enforce the gay ban, effective immediately:
A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco said Wednesday the "don't ask, don't tell" policy must be immediately lifted now that the Obama administration says it's unconstitutional to treat gay Americans differently under the law.
It’s not really clear what the ramifications of this one court ruling are; chances are the Obama administration will ignore it and continue dragging its heels on the matter as they’ve done thus far.
