The traditional assumption is that liberal and conservative morality differ in that leftists tend to value fairness, openness and change, whilst rightists tend to rally around authority, purity and traditionalism. And as Jonathan Haidt, associate professor of psychology at the University of Virginia, shows us in this interesting (20 minute long) TED talk, that’s pretty much how it is.
