  • Iranian woman [pictured] whipped 99 times for “spreading corruption and indecency” after allegedly appearing in a photo without a headscarf. If that’s “corrupt and indecent”, I wonder what publicly flogging a woman for (allegedly) showing some hair in a photograph is? (Or flogging somebody at all?)

  • Stupid in an unexpected place: Salon.com article description: “Why do we get so angry with animal abusers, but eat more animals than ever before? An expert provides some clues” We really need an “expert” to tell us how eating meat and abusing animals are not the same things?

  • Fareed Zakaria: America overreacted to 9/11. Not in its suffering, but in the consuming fear that followed about an enemy that simply isn’t that big a threat.

  • During 9/11, then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice yelled at then-President Bush to stay out of Washington, DC as she and White House staff hid in a bunker that was running out of air.

  • Just how blind have conservatives become? Another exposé on right-wingers being successfully hoodwinked by a blatantly satirical venue. (No, not The Colbert Report. This time.)
