  • Rush Limbaugh: “I’m all for losing public sector jobs, because those are a huge drain on the private sector.”

  • Follow-up: Apparently realizing that planning to teach Creationism in public classrooms is just begging for a lawsuit, the Livingston Parish School Board, Louisiana decides fairy tales will not be taught as science … this year. Quote: “‘We don’t want litigation, but why not take a stand for Jesus and risk litigation,’ Tate said.” Thank you for confirming, despite what the Discovery Institute will proclaim, that Creationism/ID has nothing to do with science and everything to do with Christian mythology.

  • For you diehard Star Wars geeks out there: Lightsabers, lightsabers and more lightsabers.

  • Greta Christina: LGBT people had the Stonewall riots, atheists had … 9/11. Not sure I entirely agree with the comparison (9/11 was rather more all-encompassing and all-affecting than the Riots), but it’s a pretty bold and innovative way to look at it.

  • Kaganroo Court: WorldNutDaily caught lying about Obama supposedly nominated Kagan for the Supreme Court as a reward for her dismissing nine challenges to his eligibility. Be sure to read the little footnote.

  • Newsweek and CNN’s Fareed Zakaria returns his Anti-Defamation League award over the ADL’s opposition to the “Ground Zero Mosque”. I think he’s overreacting a little; the ADL made it clear in their statement that they respected the owners of the proposed Islamic cultural center’s rights to build wherever they wanted and that their opposition was only an emotional appeal (albeit a very misguided one).

  • California Gov. Schwarzenegger wants same-sex marriages to resume immediately in wake of Prop 8 being declared unconstitutional.

  • American “Family” Association wants to impeach Judge Vaughn Walker [pictured], of the successful anti-Prop 8 trial, and uses legal arguments that make legal scholars both laugh or cringe with their stupidity.
