Senatorial candidate Rep. Roy Blunt (R-Missouri) posts, then retracts (and claims ignorance of) attack ad against his opponent, Robin Carnahan (D), featuring audio of her explaining how she doesn’t oppose the “Ground Zero Mosque” and promotes interfaith cooperation played over a graphic image of a smoldering Ground Zero after the attacks.
(via @todayspolitics)Phil Plait writes about the personal side of the aftermath of his TAM8 “Don’t Be a Dick” speech. This is what makes it worth it – and why he’s completely right about the goal(s) of, and problem(s) with, the modern skeptical movement.

(via Pharyngula)Roger Ebert writes about ten things he knows about the Park51 Islamic cultural center (“Ground Zero Mosque”).
Excellent Washington Post report debunking some falsehoods and showing that not only is the Park51 manufactroversy a local issue, not a nationwide one, but that New Yorkers themselves, civilian and political, are generally all for the Islamic cultural center being built.
