Daily Blend: 03/17/10 – Small but great

Daily Blend

Was yesterday a slow day, or was it I?

“Hate has no place in the house of God”
A powerful op-ed by Archbishop Desmond Tutu at the Washington Post where he strongly condemns the climate of anti-gay hate in Africa, particularly Uganda. Heavy on the religious stuff (he is an archbishop, you know), but it’s refreshing – and important – for strong voices of compassion like his to be heard, as they should be more often.

More self-defeating anti-atheist vandals
Another case of vandalized atheist bus ads (“Don’t believe in God? You are not alone.”), and therefore, another example of petty criminals who fail to realize how their useless and juvenile actions only bring atheists more publicity.

Lord Erickson of Wingnutshire joins CNN
Erick Erickson, bigoted conservative crank from RedState.com, joins CNN as a contributor. How long before CNN’s claim of being “America's Most Trusted News Source” becomes as amusing and ironic as the idea of Faux News being “Fair & Balanced”?

And now, to lighten the mood
Random funny: this one is curiously both attractive and slightly creepy, whilst this one is just classic.

As always, if you have any story suggestions, feel free to send them in.
