Tell me again about how the religious right isn’t becoming radicalized?

We’re always hearing, usually from defensive conservatives and religious people, about how teabaggers and the religious far-right – those who equate Obama to Hitler, healthcare reform to the Nazis, and who rejoice at the idea of the President being assassinated (amongst other pleasantries) – form a tiny little minority in the demographics, about how they just bark really loud yet have little or no bite. Once again, Frank Schaeffer appears on The Rachel Maddow Show and gives us the cold, hard facts: that the insanity is spreading and is becoming increasingly dangerous.

We are already getting reports that the Secret Service, the men and women specifically assigned to protect the President and his family (amongst other crucial officials), is being stretched so thin that they can no longer effectively cover all the bases. If ever there was a time to begin to worry about the President’s safety, it is coming, fast.
