I’m starting to wonder if Jon Stewart and The Daily Show are the only program on television willing, or even competent enough, to hold Faux Newz accountable for the endless dishonesty, stupidity and wingnuttery that flows from the pseudo-news channel. This time, Stewart nails Sean Hannity as the dishonest twit tries to present footage from Glenn Beck’s 9/12 rally and pass it along as being part of the anti-healthcare reform gathering of late, itself considerably smaller than Beck’s teabaggers were.
Nice try, Hannity … No, actually scratch that. Not even “nice try”; that edit was pathetic; even I, as easily distracted as I am when not paying closely attention, was able to catch the sudden and serious discrepancies between the anti-healthcare reform gathering and Beck’s teabaggers. It’s simply shameful that no-one else seems to have caught it … or perhaps even, especially shameful that no-one else dares to expose Hannity and Faux Newz as the lying charlatans that they are.
For a program hailing itself as being a “fake news show”, The Daily Show seems to be quite more present and competent in that whole “news” thing than most other networks, and is about a thousand times more reliable than is Faux Newz. The media is supposed to be all about giving people a clear view on the world and the people and events in it, and this should include the dishonest liars who try and corrupt it all – like Hannity. It’s as though The Daily Show had entirely taken up this function in their place. And that, is shameful and pathetic.
