Hannity admits they screwed up teabagger protest footage … “accidentally”

Last night, I posted a vid of Jon Stewart from The Daily Show catching Hannity and Faux Newz red-handed, splicing in some footage from Glenn Beck’s 9/12 rally in with their considerably smaller anti-healthcare reform gathering, apparently to try and increase the apparent numbers of teabaggers.

This has, understandably, blown far and wide across the Web, with everything from various bloggers to even major media outlets covering the “screw-up”. It quickly got to the point where even Faux Newz couldn’t ignore it anymore and had to quell the flames, so here we have Hannity apologizing for the “inadvertent” mistake.

I personally have some serious doubts as to the genuineness of this mistake. Of course, it’s always possible it actually was completely unintentional, but seriously, the obvious differences between the anti-healthcare teabaggers, and the several-times-larger 9/12 protests, are more than enough to tip even the most casual of observers off.

That’s (one of) the problem(s) with crappy quality “news” networks like Faux Newz: you just can’t tell anymore when they’re honestly screwing up or whether they’re deliberately trying to hoodwink you. Someone has cried wolf one (thousand) time(s) too many, here.
