Charged with indecent exposure for being naked … in his own kitchen … at 5:30 AM

| »

This is getting so overly ridiculous, it’s becoming downright painful to cover. Eric Williamson from Springfield, VA, was in his kitchen at 5:30 in the morning, when the sun hadn’t even begun to shine, making coffee. He was naked. In his own home, out of sight and out of mind.

Until, that is, a woman and her 7-year-old boy happened to cut across his lawn and happened to get a glimpse of him, without him ever realizing they were there.

He’s now being charged with indecent exposure and could face up to a year in jail, along with a $2,000 fine.

Williamson, 29, says he didn't know anyone could see him.

"If I stood and seemed comfortable in my kitchen, it's natural. It's my kitchen," Williamson tells Channel 5.

Williamson says his roommates were not home when he came into the kitchen and made his coffee.

Fairfax County Police say they believed Williamson wanted to be seen naked by the public.

I suppose Williamson’s front lawn must be a rather popular spot at 5:30 in the morning, then.

Look, we’ve all seen pics or heard stories about idiots walking around their houses in broad daylight, passing by large windows with no curtains and nothing to hide their lack of modesty from the streets outside. But such isn’t the case, here. We’re talking about a guy who was just minding his own business at an hour of the day when very few are even awake, much less walking around outside, and who got busted being naked in his own home by an oversensitive mother who happened to be cutting on his lawn, where ethics state she shouldn’t even have been to begin with (or am I the only one who respects other people’s property anymore?). Charging him with indecent exposure is, again, ridiculous. Which makes his possible incarceration and budget-busting fine insane.

Update – Found this video of a phone interview with Williamson on Fox News. After the annoying ad at first comes an in-depth analysis of what happened.
