You've really got to revel in the hysterical overreaction from the right-wing and the loonisphere in general regarding Obama's national healthcare overhaul; it's really quite telling about these cretins' views on reality when they keep making up false claims and touting them as "proof" that Obama is just out to "kill old people", take control of (the already government-controlled) MediCare, and other such idiocy. As Jon Stewart said, you know you're dealing with idiots as a president when you have to yell, "Look, trust me, we're not going to kill you!". Utterly batshit insane.
Yet, one particular group of crazies is doing their damnedest to surpass them all. And as usual, this bunch of nutjobs is the Liberty Counsel. Just take a look at what Mathew Staver, founder of LC, has to say about it:
"In the same way that the bill pushes elderly or the sick toward euthanasia, it is a pill that would cause economic suicide," said Mathew Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel. "It's a euthanasia bill for America."
Hey, they're not just killing your grandparents anymore – now they're taking out the entire country! Grandiose.
Congress members have admitted they have not read the more-than-1,000-page bill, and Staver's organization is one of the first to go through it and offer an analysis.
Wait – so none of those who are actually gonna be voting on the damned thing, even took the time to read it? And that the only people who did, are Class-A Certifiable kooks and loonies? Very reassuring ...
And of course, what would some insane blather be without the obligatory comparison to those evil commie bastards?
"It reflects a repressive regime worse than China's one-child policy," Staver told WND. "It's going down the road for a government that manages the most intimate matters of your life regarding health and safety."
Right, bureaucrats are gonna be holding your hand as you die. They're also gonna be there to regulate your masturbation sessions and dictate when you should breathe or not.
Methinks these guys are perhaps a little too afraid of their own shadows. The wonders of the insane, people.
