A little correction to Investor's Business Daily ...

| »

Apparently, Stephen Hawking didn't appreciate the IBD's amusingly stupid comment about how if he had been living in the UK under the National Health Service's medical care, he would have been neglected due to his disabilities and put out to die:

"I wouldn't be here today if it were not for the NHS," he told us. "I have received a large amount of high-quality treatment without which I would not have survived."

Even more amusing: there is now a "correction" at the top of the IBD's editorial:

Editor's Note: This version corrects the original editorial which implied that physicist Stephen Hawking, a professor at the University of Cambridge, did not live in the UK.

Seems okay on the surface – until you remember they weren't just saying Hawking wasn't British (in itself an awesomely stupid thing to say), but that his physical limitations would result in him just being thrown away in the nearest dumpster when in reality his VIP status probably gets him the same sort of medical healthcare quality as the Queen of England. Dodged a bullet – but still hit in the arm.
