Can't formulate my reaction to this dumb quote any better, from the Investor's Business Daily:
People such as scientist Stephen Hawking wouldn't have a chance in the U.K., where the National Health Service would say the life of this brilliant man, because of his physical handicaps, is essentially worthless.

Maybe this columnist ought to learn a few basic facts about people before writing about them or using them in examples. Such as, perhaps, their nationality. Or which hospitals they do go to.
