More on that depressing poll

| »

Just a few days ago I commented on my forlorn depression brought on by a revealing and disheartening poll from the Public Policy Polling, but it turns out I neglected to mention a few more revealing numbers. Talking Points Memo hasn't – here it is:

Among Republicans, 62% say the government should stay out of Medicare, compared to only 24% of Democrats and 31% of independents who agree.

Keeping in mind, of course, that Medicare is already government-owned and operated, and that keeping the gov't out of Medicare is about as logical as keeping wood out of trees.

Just a little more? Okay. Ed Brayton points out:

It also showed that more Republicans believed that Obama was not born in the United States (40%) than believed he was (36%).

Republicans: too fuckin' stupid in general to be trusted with anything sharper than a sponge, heavier than a sponge, hotter than ... you get the idea.
