Young Republicans want you to “break up” with Obama

Young people don’t want old people to have all the stupid

Uh-oh. Looks like the disease of ignorance and blind partisanship is starting to infect young people as well. Here’s a new ad from the College Republicans that tries to convince young voters who originally put Obama and the Democrats in office of how they made a bad choice using the only allegory most youths are likely to understand: hooking up with a bad boy-/girlfriend. It’s a rather like an epileptic Gish Gallup: So much idiocy thrown at you in such little time that you feel both overwhelmed and stupider simply for having watched it. [video below the fold]

Just the first line from the video’s description tells you pretty much everything you need to know about this group: The policies of President Obama and Congressional Democrats have resulted in 20% of young adults being unable to find work. It would seem concepts of honest research and time are both negligible in their fantasy world.

It’s worth it to check out their website, Don’t Put It On Our Tab, too. It’s all displayed in a layout heavy on graphics and visual aids, perhaps indicating how their target audience has yet to develop the ability to understand anything not communicated to it through pictures and bright colors. It’s as if those promoting the site all had every TV channel at home blocked except for Fox News and MTV. (Then again, this might be voluntary.)

If young people really are swayed by this sort of thing, I’m officially emancipating myself from the age group.
