Not much is known other than the basics:
A Taylor police officer shot and killed a dog Saturday that charged at him during a call about a domestic disturbance, said Capt. Don Georgens of the Taylor Police Department.
The officer, whose name was not released, responded with several officers to a domestic disturbance call at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Vernon Street, Georgens said. When the officers arrived they could hear screaming inside the residence, he said.
The officers knocked on the door and when someone opened it a large pit bull and Labrador mix charged in the direction of one officer and then charged at the policeman who killed him, said Georgens.
“I have reviewed several of the videos of the incident and I don’t believe the officer had any other option,” Georgens said.
The incident is still under investigation, he said.
