Demonic: How the Liberal Mob is Endangering America by Ann Coulter |
Ann Coulter is no stranger to making the sorts of pronouncements that, in an ideal society, would result in her being immediately cast away like the vile, delusional harpy she is, but this seems wicked even by her standards. As quoted by Ed Brayton at Dispatches from the Culture Wars from her new anti-liberal-rant-slash-book, Demonic:
"But more important, abortion clinic violence should not be filed under 'Political Violence' at all. It should be filed under 'Things Liberals Won't Let Americans Vote On.'...When there is no legal process for pro-lifers to pursue to outlaw abortion - unlike every policy liberals violently protest - some pro-lifers will inevitably respond to lawlessness with lawlessness," Coulter writes. "In the first few years after [Planned Parenthood v. Casey], about six more people were killed in attacks on abortion clinics. Most of the abortionists were shot or, depending upon your point of view, had a procedure performed on them with a rifle."
How lovely. Zealotry, sophistry and utter heartlessness, all in one neat little paragraph of batshit tribalistic insanity.
But wait, there’s more:
Ann Coulter |
"There were no more constitutional options left to fight judicial tyranny on the little matter of mass murder," she concludes. "Thus, abortion clinic violence is more akin to the Tiananmen Square protests in Communist China than any liberal riot in America. Want to stop violence at abortion clinics? Repeal Roe and let Americans vote."
Poor little Conservative-American, so oppressed and stripped of their rights by that all-pervasive Liberal Elite that they see no alternative but to slaughter innocents. After all, what’s a kook to do when options run out? Call an elected representative? Start a petition? Launch a rally? Not kill random people in fits of ideological insanity?
Of course, Coulter presumably fails to realize the logical implications of her barbaric worldview. Any time a court rules on any given matter, it’s now apparently acceptable, due to a supposed lack of alternatives, for dissenters to arm up and start slaying anyone they perceive to be a part of the problem. After all, according to her own stated beliefs, they’re not just acts of wanton violence by mad murderers; they’re innocent country-folk engaging in the only political option they have left. Or something.
And yet, as usual, we’re the immoral ones. Of course.
