Julian Assange
Julian Assange

Apologies for the dearth in posting these past few days. Truth is, I’ve been rather busy with a sudden, unexpected and thoroughly time-and-energy-consuming project (of a nature that I am not entirely free to divulge) that I’ve imposed on myself at no more than a mere whim. I can say that I’m just over halfway done with it at the moment, and that normal blogging should return within the next few days.

  • WikiLeaks’s Julian Assange [pictured]: Even if I’m taken out, key parts of Cablegate will be released anyway.

  • Shocking: Woman who accused Julian Assange of raping her made it all up, now destroying her own evidence.

  • Well, it’s so fun when bigots decide to stop pretending to be tolerant and loving and all that.

  • Yet another study on how allowing legal access to taboo/prohibited content actually lessens the rates of said behaviors occurring in real-life: child porn edition. (Note: While I certainly maintain that real-life child porn should absolutely be criminalized, this serves to explain why A) mere possession should not be criminalized, and B) I would be entirely supportive of making drawn, CGI and otherwise non-real-life material legally available for those seeking it.)

  • A decent, fairly detailed Washington Post exposé on Media Matters for America and the group’s never-ending thrashing of Fox News.

  • Um … why is the focus in this story on the fact that the couple screwed the family pooch and not that they also solicited young children for sex?

  • Another round of vintage ads that would merit a good slapping at the very least in modern times.

  • Surreal treehoppers”? I call alien invasion.
