Erickson likens Gov. Crist to a child molester, then tries to defend himself

It’s really quite the mystery why CNN is faring so poorly in ratings these days. Perhaps it has something to do with whatever possessed them to hire RedState honcho and general ass Erick Erickson as a political commentator despite his long history of generally bigoted remarks. One particular example would be when he notoriously referred to former Supreme Court Justice David Souter as a “goat fucking child molester”. I wonder if CNN knew or even cared about such classy statements when they brought him on as a regular contributor.

Afterwards, Erickson declared that he had “grown up” in the wake of such comments – then went right on saying more stupid crap. But, hey, maybe he has matured. Just take a look at his latest classy remark:

See? He’s left out the bestiality this time. How terribly “grown up” of him, no?

This alone would’ve merited a snarky entry in tomorrow’s Daily Blend, but checking out Erickson’s Twitter brought me to this noteworthy gem where he actually tries to defend that tweet of his likening Gov. Crist to a child abductor:

Okay. It is, I suppose, possible that Erickson actually looked at what amounts to no less than a perfect symbol of the archetypal child abductor and didn’t see it as such, and instead bizarrely construed it to signify a message in support of the Obama administration’s stimulus package. Somehow.

Nonetheless, this brings us to consider two possibilities. Either he’s lying in trying to save face now that yet another of his horrible smears has backfired, which would make him a craven and profoundly dishonest hack; or, he really, genuinely didn’t realize how an unmarked, windowless van with that iconic of child-abductor taunts scribbled on the side was a symbol for child molesters. Which would mean that he’s just really, completely fucking stupid.

So, which is it? Is he a lying asshole or a total dumbass?
