If we arrest the Pope, who will be left to lead the disgusting cult that is the Roman Catholic Church through the murky waters of covering up child sex abuse? … Oh, wait, that’s what we want.

  • Michael Zimmerman on the nonsense of so-called “scientific” arguments against evolution, and the disingenuous ignorance of the Creationism/Intelligent Design-peddling Discovery Institute.

  • Both interesting and worrisome: Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens plan to have Pope Ratzi arrested during his visit to Britain in September. On the one hand, that lying child-molestation-hiding pontiff couldn’t deserve his own spot behind bars more. But on the other, I cringe at the thought of how this little campaign will affect people’s perception of atheism and atheists, considering how easily the notion of two prominent celebrity atheists trying to arrest the Pope himself can be twisted into something meaning “atheists are assholes”, rather than what this is actually about – “two moral people with some public influence trying to arrest a man for covering up child molestation”. Will be watching this story as it develops. (Final note: could the Times possibly have picked a more sinister-looking photo?)

  • James Cameron: blockbuster-maker, science geek, rationalist, atheist, hopeless perfectionist … and nutty environmentalist?
