Going out tonight to my seen-her-about-twice-in-my-whole-life aunt’s 50th birthday party. On the menu: being bored stiff for hours, spending most of my time between the self-serve buffet and jotting down ideas for my book in my little notepad, and trying to avoid relatives trying to squeeze a lukewarm greeting out of me. Oh, joy. (Not that I have anything against anyone; I’m just not a social person. My family are basically all strangers to me, save for a few.) Anyways, on to the news!
Obligatory WTF moment: A woman in Twin Falls, Nevada, has been sentenced to life (though eligible for parole after 10 years) for having a 13-year-old boy touch her breast under nebulous circumstances. Telling quote from the defense: “She is getting a greater penalty for having a boy touch her breast than if she killed him.” Insane.
(via The Agitator)Bill O’Reilly defends his lying. (Again.) Stop evading, Bill-O. You might stop sounding so pathetic.
(via @todayspolitics)Creepy creep is creepy.
(via @ebertchicago)Moving, touching and heartfelt. In that order.
