Ever wondered what a bird’s-eye view was really like?

| »

Then feast your eyes on this spectacular footage, obtained by placing a few miniature cameras on the backs of a range of birds (including a high-flying golden eagle, a skydiving peregrine falcon, and a ground-hugging goshawk) and capturing their flights in panoramic view. Do yourself a favor: hit High Quality, full-screen this baby, and just watch. (Not exactly Hi-Def, but it does the trick.)

Who knows if someday, when science and technology have advanced to a point where they become nearly indistinguishable from magic, humans will be able to see such sights for themselves?
