From his latest post (I only post that atrocious cartoon to point out how both clueless and talentless that cartoonist is):
Creationists’ graphic skills: at the level of their intellect? I was asked recently during an interview if I thought that the Theory of Evolution was a religion. I said that I think it is.
If evolution is responsible for everything that has evolved--everything, then it is worthy of praise. What it did was miraculous, and time is the miracle-method it used. Its prophet was Charles Darwin (the faithful can pay homage to his facial hair in the Natural History Museum, in London), and Richard Dawkins is the sitting pope.
According to his decree, if you disagree with the canon of evolution you are "wicked." So those who don't believe, should therefore be excommunicated from the realm of science.
The "Bible" of the Darwinian believer is On the Origin of Species. If you write a mere Introduction that disagrees with its sacred contents, it is tantamount to blasphemy. Be prepared for an inquisition from believers and threats of book burnings.
So, if you believe in evolution, don’t question dating methods, or the credibility of revered paleontologists, or the learned priestly professors.
Just believe.
Well, that explains things. Sorta.
Oh – oh, no. Crap, here it comes …
[SIWOTI ATTACK!!!]
- Yes, everything evolved. Everything living thing, that is. A little distinction to make, there. Evolution isn’t responsible for rocks, or water.
- No, evolution is not worthy of praise, no more than gravity or relativity. It is simply a natural process that shapes the world. It neither knows nor cares about us, nor anything else, and would be remarkably insensitive to congratulatory pats on the back.
- Evolution is not a miracle. A miracle, by definition, is unexplained. Evolution is explained. Better even than gravity, in fact.
- A prophet predicts the future. Darwin just laid out a theory explaining the diversity of life, thus founding modern biology. He is not a prophet, a deity, or anything other than a man who had a great idea and leaves us with an even greater legacy of scientific knowledge.
- Dawkins is a renown evolutionist. He is not in charge of anyone or anything. (Well, he is second-in-command at the British Humanist Association, but that’s quite irrelevant.)
- Not believing in evolution does not make one “wicked”. Just ignorant.
- In fact, those who don’t “believe” (or rather, “accept”) are encouraged ever closer to the realms of science so that they can be educated properly.
- There is no holy writings for evolution. Also, there is no such thing as “Darwinism”, as no-one worships Darwin in any way, shape or form.
- Darwin’s On the Origin of Species lays down the bedrock upon which all of modern biology is established. No more, no less.
- No evolutionists have ever gone after Creationists with fire and pitchforks. The opposite cannot truthfully be said, though.
- No-one is being silenced or forced not to question something. Quite the opposite: it is highly encouraged, almost mandatory, for scientists to question everything and find new answers to questions. That is, as long as those questions are intelligent and informed. Stupidity is decried, of course. Which is obviously why Creationists feel like they are being silenced: their questions are just too stupid to bear.
- The only thing in the world that requires no more than belief, is religion.
- Oh, and lastly: evolution is not a religion. Not by any definition or stretch of the imagination.

Hey, that actually feels kinda good.
