Beck compares healthcare reform to rape

| »

Seriously, is there any level this demagogic asshat won’t stoop to when parading his petty little grievances and screwed-up ideology? Glenn Beck once again cranks up the rhetoric machine to “loathsome” when he compares the government passing the healthcare reform for the American people, to Roman Polanski drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl. What a sickening man.

‘America has spoken clearly, consistently: “we don’t want this”, and for the first time in history, we don’t think it’s the government’s place to give it to us. […] We are – excuse this analogy, but I feel like it’s true – we’re the young girl saying, “no, no, help me!”, and the government is Roman Polanski. In the end, I think we’re all gonna be cowering in France. Why would we do this?’

The only thing that’s nearly as repulsive as this type of rhetoric is how he willfully ignores all the facts that directly contradict his claims. Such as – I dunno – the vast majority of Americans being for healthcare reform, the vast majority who have been for it for months and months. He also claims that the reform would be too expensive. Right. Yet, spending trillions of dollars for war, when a lesser cost for healthcare reform would not only actually do something good for people, but would actually help ease the deficit, is perfectly dandy.

Right-wing logic, folks. Can’t debate it … ’cuz there’s nothing to debate in the loonisphere they inhabit.
