Teabaggers are just full of class, aren’t they? After hearing about the Chicago Tea Party “Patriots”[1] heckling and mocking a grieving mother who’d lost her daughter and unborn grandchild due to lack of healthcare coverage, I now get wind of the two Teabaggers-in-Chief, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, calling Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) a “whore” for voting to advance the healthcare reform debate into the Senate.
Here’s Beck’s bit:
‘We’re with a high class prostitute. That’s what we’re with. You’re not at Motel 6 with this. No; you’re not sittin’ there in a back alley and sayin’, “Hey, whaddaya say? Five bucks?” No, no, no. This one comes to your Four Seasons hotel room and does it right. It doesn’t dress really slutty; it dresses nice. You might even think she’s the wife of the CEO […] There’s nobody that’s gonna look at her and say, “Oh my gosh, that’s a tramp/whore!”. No; you’re gonna look at her and say, “Oh, wow, look at that”. And then, when somebody whispers, “She’s a prostitute”, you’ll say, “Okay, yeah, but she’s not cheap”.’
Then, Limbaugh’s bit:
‘That may be, folks, that may be the most expensive prostitute in the history of prostitution, and she braggin’ about it. Mary Landrieu, bragging about $300 million payoff from Dingy Harry to get her vote on this healthcare scam on Saturday night.’
What is this “$300 million payoff” Senator Landrieu received that’s causing such a stir with our cranks, here, you ask? Quite simply, it’s actually a grant handed to Louisiana to help cover Medicare costs for the poor. That’s it. There’s nothing more to it, and the notion that Landrieu herself would be making any sort of profit from this deal is utter nonsense. The money didn’t go to her, but to the state, for it’s neediest citizens.
And yet, because she accepted it, she’s now a “prostitute”, a “whore”, who was bought for the healthcare bill debate.
If this isn’t yet another prime example of Rethuglican sexism, I dunno what is. Seriously, think about it. Imagine if a Democrat came up and called Sarah Palin a “prostitute” for quitting her Governor’s post prematurely under what are most assuredly false excuses, just to “write” a book, make money off it, and garner even more publicity? If anyone ever whored herself to the media, it’s Sarah Failin’ – yet, you could bet your money, soul and nuts that as soon as any liberal dared to say such a thing, the right would instantly go apeshit over it.
*Sigh* This hypocrisy isn’t even funny anymore when these morons are too dense to pick up on it.
