About time it happened: ‘South Park’ takes on Glenn Beck

| »

I dunno if it’s happened before, but this is the first time I’ve caught our favorite motley bunch of exceptionally crude satirical kids take on the melodramatic mess that is Glenn Beck and his insane paranoia and conspiracy-mongering. (Yeah, I like adjectives.)

Then, check out Beck’s reaction(s) as he hears the clips (it also includes a third excerpt not included above):

Oh, that’s some good satire. Although, sorry, Beck, but you’re wrong when you claim that it’s a “compliment”: when South Park parodies celebrities, the tone in which they are portrayed communicates whether the show’s creators see you as someone respectable or worthy only of scorn. For example, when they featured Cesar Milan (the Dog Whisperer), his portrayal was overwhelmingly positive.

Not so much for Beck. Which I approve.
