Cleaning the gene pool, one car at a time

| »

Here’s a joke I found posted by a commenter at Ray Comfort’s blog, which I personally found quite amusing.

Jack and Joe were on the side of the road with make-shift signs that read, "The end is near. Change your path".

A couple in a car comes by and stops to say, "Oh, bless you for spreading the good word!" then drives down the road. Moments later, Jack and Joe hear a loud explosion and look over at each other with a shrug.

Another couple in a car comes by and stops to say, "If only more young people today followed the Gospel. Bless you!" then continue down the road. A few moments later J&J hear screaming another loud explosion.

A few moments later, yet another couple drives by and yells out their window, “Glory to God! Bless you!" and continue down the road. Again Jack and Joe hear screams and an explosion.

This time Joe looks to Jack and says, “Do you think we should change the sign to ‘Road out ahead’ or ‘Danger’?” To which Jack replied, “Tell you what, if someone stops and asked what the sign means, we’ll know they are open minded and we can let them know that the road is out, otherwise let’s just go with what we have. It seems to be having a positive effect on the gene pool”.

Unfortunately, this could also be used against cynical nonbelievers, who would see such signs, construe them to be referring to the Rapture/apocalypse/Doomsday 2012, and would just ignore them – thereby plunging to their deaths. But frankly, that is beyond the scope of this joke, so let’s not go there.
